Health and Wellness

By Amanda Pentiah, MA, Resident in Counseling

Another year has come and gone, and as we reflect on our trip around the Sun, many of us are inspired to choose a New Year’s resolution. While setting a goal for the new year can be fun and exciting, resolutions focused on weight loss can be triggering for those who struggle with body image and unhealthy eating habits. Year after year, people engage in restrictive eating habits by cutting whole food groups out of their diet, no longer available to break bread with friends and family.

The truth is, you can love your body and improve your health right now, regardless of your weight. Currently, Counseling Connect is developing a health focused presentation of evidence-based research and practices to help people who are ready to give up on fad diets and create healthy lifestyle habits. The presenter for this Health & Wellness seminar is Amanda Pentiah, MA, Resident in Counseling. She will draw from the Health At Every Size model, which is designed to help clients improve self-esteem and establish a healthy relationship with food and exercise.
