Meet Your Therapist: Elle Ryan, Resident in Counseling

Counseling Connect is excited to welcome Elle Ryan to our team! After finishing her graduate degree, Elle is staying on with the practice as a mental health counselor. We are thrilled that she will continue to grow with our team as she works toward residency and licensure.

Here are a few words from Elle herself: “Life can be very overwhelming! As we juggle our responsibilities, relationships, and stressors, it’s easy to lose sight of our own needs. Asking for help can be difficult, especially when you’re struggling and just trying to survive. But you deserve the balance and support you need to not just survive, but to thrive. I will give you a safe space to tackle life’s challenges in a client-counselor relationship built on trust, empathy and unconditional acceptance.

I have nearly two years of experience providing mental health and addiction recovery services for children, adolescents, and adults. I specialize in helping clients, who identify as LGBTQ+, survivors of sexual violence, and people with anxiety, neurodivergence, and personality disorders.

My approach is grounded in Person-Centered Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy. I use techniques and interventions tailored to best suit your therapeutic needs, while teaching you effective coping and stress management skills. I can help you improve your well-being through the practice of mindfulness and self-compassion. Together, we can reach your goals for wellness and self-healing.

I work at Counseling Connect, a group private practice in Christiansburg, VA and I’m currently accepting new clients for individual and group therapy. I offer appointments for clients of all ages and have availability on Saturdays.”
